Hyperpigmentation is a condition in which patches of skin become darker than the surrounding areas of skin.

Hyperpigmentation is a skin condition which is related to an excess of melanin productions. Melanin is a natural pigment found in the skin which provides protection against harmful effects of UV sunlight. Higher the melanin production, darker the skin.
